It was in the early 60s that a British businessman discovered Tommee Tippee and set up a manufacturing unit in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK to produce the baby feeding products of cups and accessories. The original cup was designed by a Doctor with a weighted base which prevented it ‘tippping’ over and was embellished with a picture of a dog owned by the plastic company’s producers called ‘Tommee’; hence the name Tommee Tippee.
